The Chemawa Indian School, at 129 years, is the oldest continuously operating boarding school in the United States. The school dates back to the 1870's when the U. S. Government authorized a school to help integrate Native American children in the Northwest into the general population. It now serves as a high school for Native American students reaching as far as Alaska.

Just over three months ago, 100 participating artists received a book through the mail and were asked to use this as their starting point for their piece of art. These artists were asked to transform, build, infuse, reduce or reinvent the book into their own work of art.
All books are currently available for bid with a $300 max and will have a portion of the proceeds allocated to help support Friends of Pimpollo, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of underprivileged youth and their families throughout Southern Mexico.
