Reflector Art

"Portals Through Time" by Dick Elliott
Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University
900 State Street
Salem, OR 97301

Tomorrow the museum will dedicate "Portals Through Time" which consists of 45-windows that decorate the 2nd floor of the museum. The windows are made from amber, blue, clear, green and red safety reflectors. The kaleidoscope effect they create inside the building is even more artistic. Carousel Animals

Albany Brass Ring Historical Carousel and Museum
503 First Avenue W
Albany, OR 97321

Pictured are three completed hand carved carousel animals. Projected completion date for the all hand hewn Victorian carousel is 2018. The museum featured a workshop where the pieces were being carved, a studio where the completed animals went to be painted and treated, a museum that housed vintage original Dentzel carousel animals and carousel panels. The artistry and detail of all the animals was amazing. What makes the project even more unbelievable was the fact that all the materials were donated and the workmanship volunteered. If ever in the Albany area, this is a must see.

Below, unfinished cat with volunteer working diligently on the next detail.
