Snowy Blanket

Unknown Farm
SE Salem, OR

We had a freak snow roll through town last night that covered most of the city in two inches of snow. Didn't help with a quick commute this morning.

Sorry Hilda, I drive by these things all the time and mistakenly assume that everyone around the world knows what this contraption is. Well, it is a wheel line irrigation system. A water pipe with sprinkler heads or holes extends its entire length. The water is supplied from one end (not the end photographed). After the field area has been sufficiently irrigated, the line is wheeled\pushed to the next area. The process is repeated. Hope this provides some clarification.

Thank you for the explanation! I've driven past many of these in WA and OR, come to think of it in Idaho too and am fascinated by them! ;-) I have tried to photograph some but it's just too difficult to stop on Interstates... This photograph is absolutely gorgeous!
