Journey of Faith

First Presbyterian Church
770 Chemeketa St NE
Salem, OR 97301

The pictured sanctuary portion of the building was built in 1928. In 1958, it took six months to move the 1000 lb. structure across a street to its current location.

wow, what a beautiful setting! I have worshipped in Sweden in a church which was moved. Unfortunately from downtown to a remote quit area..

Why was it moved? I love the angle and colours.

I love the colours in this, and the angle too. I bet that was quite a sight, rebuilding the church stone by stone.

Nicely-lighted evening photo. Very dramatic.

That's my church!!!

I'm pretty sure that it was moved because the government needed the land to extend the Capitol Mall.
