Emptied copper urns corroded from decades of neglect, that held the unclaimed ashes of patients and found in the basement of the State Hospital, are now stacked on shelves, floor to ceiling, at the memorial.

Built in 1912, Dome Building houses both the administrative offices of the Oregon Department of Corrections and the Oregon Board of Parole and Post Prison Supervision.

This 126-year old doorway (and building wing) actually doesn't exist any longer. Demolition and efforts to replace the dilapidated facilities began earlier this year.

Hydrotherapy for the Tortured Soul

Retired ice water soak tubs that were used to deter agressive behaviors in psychiatric patients. OSH is more commonly known as the mental institution backdrop for the filming of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. The majority of the decrepit building is slated for demolition to make way for a new, state-of-the-art facility.
